Toni Gonzaga received bashing for showing support for the BBM-Sara tandem
Kapamilya actress-host Toni Gonzaga was tagged “My Amnesia Girl” because of her hosting stint for the proclamation rally of former Senator Bongbong Marcos and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
This is not the first time that Toni received bashing because of BBM. Her interview with the presidential aspirant on her Toni Talks vlog was also criticized. She was accused of being biased but amid the issues, the actress-host chose not to answer the negative reactions.
On February 8, Toni Gonzaga once again trended on social media when reports confirmed that she is the host of the BBM-Sara proclamation rally at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.
In line with this hosting stint of the Kapamilya star, netizens who are supporters of Vice President Leni Robredo and supporters of ABS-CBN bashed her. They called her “My Amnesia Girl” for supposedly forgetting what has happened during the Martial Law period and the situation now of her home network after the franchise was not renewed.
During the proclamation rally, Toni also introduced Rep. Rodante Marcoleta, one of the lawmakers who pushed the shutting down of ABS-CBN. Some netizens also recalled the previous statement of the actress-host when the Kapamilya network was forced to close.
In the said statement, Toni was criticizing the people who were behind the shutting down of ABS-CBN. However, netizens said that apparently, the actress-host has forgotten all of that, thus the tag “My Amnesia Girl”. Ironically, it is also the title of Toni Gonzaga’s movie with A-list actor John Lloyd Cruz that was released back in 2010 under Star Cinema, the film outfit of ABS-CBN.
Here are some of the tweets of netizens against Toni.
