Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) have arrested a man identified as a fake dentist doing illegal practices in Leyte.

In Abuyog, Leyte, the National Bureau of Investigation’s Easter Visayas Regional Office (NBI-EVRO) apprehended a man who claimed to be a dentist. Alvin Sy Caminong was identified as the suspect by NBI Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Director Eric B. Distor.

According to Distor, the NBI got information on a dentist practicing dentistry without a government license in Albuyog, Leyte. The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) conducted surveillance in the region and discovered that he was practicing dentistry for a fee at his home in Brgy. Leyte’s Nalibunan, Albayog, and Nalibunan.

The National Bureau of Investigation-EVRO requested confirmation from the Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) in Manila about the suspect’s dental training. Sy does not appear in the PRC’s database as a registered dentist who should be able to practice dentistry in the Philippines, according to the certificate.

As a consequence, after serving two fictitious patients from NBI-EVRO, an entrapment operation was carried out against the suspect. Article 5, Section 33 of the R.A. is infringed upon. The suspect will be charged under Public Law 9484, often known as the Philippine Dental Act of 2007.

Meanwhile, in separate operations in Iloilo City and Iloilo province, operatives from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Region 6 arrested two fake dentists. They were practicing dentistry without a license, according to the cops.

A 17-year-old girl complained to the Philippine Dental Association (PDA) about an infection she got from Peaflor’s dental braces. The CIDG was notified, and entrapment was prepared.
