Is Angelica Panganiban a “starlet”? Cristy Fermin doesn’t think so
Veteran showbiz reporter Cristy Fermin reacted to the bashers of Kapamilya actress Angelica Panganiban who called her “starlet”.
The recent bashings against the actress started after the release of her advocacy ad in line with the coming May 2022 elections. Although Angelica was lauded by many netizens and fellow celebrities, there were also those who bashed her.
One of the attacks from bashers against the actress was that she is already “laos” and there were also those who called her “starlet” or not so popular.
Based on the article in Bandera, during a recent episode of her show Cristy Perminute with Romel Chika, Cristy Fermin contradicted the bashers of Angelica Panganiban.
“Ang tindi po ng mga salitang kinakapit at ibinabato ngayon laban kay Angelica Panganiban. Ang dami pong mga salitang na kung nakasusugat po sa ating katawan e baka punum-puno na siya ng sugar ngayon,” Cristy said.
The veteran showbiz reporter said that there were those who accused Angelica of deliberately getting the attention of the public because, for them, she is now “laos”.
Cristy said that one of prominent recent criticisms against the actress is that she is just a “starlet”. However, the showbiz reporter said that she thinks this is wrong. “Ako naman, hindi ako sang-ayon na tawaging starlet si Angelica Panganiban. Ang dami na rin naman niyang nagawang pelikula na talgang naghakot rin ng pera para sa kanyang produksyon,” Cristy Fermin stressed.
She added that at a young age, Angelica Panganiban has already shown her acting prowess. Cristy cited the movie that Angelica did with Camille Prats that captured the attention of many.
“Kaya huwag naman po nating tawaging ‘starlet’ ang isang tao na nangarap, magsikap, at nagtagumpay. Hindi ako payag don,” the showbiz reported said adding that those criticizing the actress were apparently hit by the elections advocacy ad that she did.
