Kylie Verzosa shares her expertise in beauty pageants
Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa shared that international pageants are looking for queens who possess these qualities.
Before making a successful career in acting, Kylie has owned the international pageant years ago. Her success added to the long list of Pinays who won the Miss International title.
Filipinos are considered very enthusiastic pageant fans. It has been a tradition of pageant enthusiasts in the Philippines to await the result of different international pageants. In the national competition, beauty queen aspirants are aiming to get the three prestigious titles that would give them the chance to represent the country in Miss Universe, Miss World, or Miss International competition.
Based on the article in Inquirer, Kylie Verzosa has the knowledge regarding the qualities that international pageants want for their queens.
“For Miss Universe, I think they’re looking for this sexy bombshell type of girl. On the other hand, for Miss International, which is a Japan-based pageant, they like someone who’s ladylike, just like my character in ‘The Housemaid,’” she said.
On the other hand, Kylie stressed the importance of being a good speaker despite possessing a lady-like quality. “She may be very quiet and demure, but she’s strong inside. She isn’t so loud, but is very intelligent—you know that there’s ‘something’ in her. Also, she has to be a good spokesperson, so every Miss International should be a good speaker,” she said.
Meanwhile, when it comes to her acting career, she said that portraying different roles in front of the camera is her form of outlet. “And just like in pageantry, when you fail, you just have to strive harder if you want to get better. That’s also how I would define my acting career,” Kylie Verzosa added. She also shared that she is enjoying acting and she is looking forward to doing other genres.
