Mary Anne Lim, the mother of Kapuso actor Xian Lim, shared this story about his basketball stint when he was a young boy.

The mother of the celebrity posted a throwback photo on Instagram and based on her caption it was taken during the nursery graduation of the actor. It can be noticed that Xian is much taller than his classmates.

The story of Mommy Mary Anne was about how the height of Xian affected his basketball stint. “When Xian was 8, I enrolled him in summer basketball. During competition, the coach approached me,” the mother of Xian Lim shared.

The coach said that other parents were complaining about the height of Xian as other boys’ head just reached his shoulders. “His team always scored bec he didn’t have to jump to shoot. He only dunked,” Mommy Marry Anne said.

She also shared that this was not an issue to most parents but there were those who really complained. Those who complained reason out that their sons had potentials but were intimidated by the height of Xian Lim.

Then, the mother of the actor asked the coach why he was telling that to him when in fact, he should have anticipated this when she enrolled her son. “So the coach devised a ‘fun-only competition’ with Xian. Anyone absent would not be allowed to join the ‘for trophy’ competition. (where sadly Xian couldn’t join this anymore.),” the mother of the celebrity said.

Years have passed and Mommy Mary Anne received messages from parents who did not complain against Xian’s height and they gave their best regards to the actor. Then, the mother of Xian asked the nice parents if what happened to those “kids with potentials”.

They said no one made it to any league, bec the boys didn’t grow much,” Mommy Mary Anne said. With this, she said that parents should let their kids enjoy the games because interaction and developing friendship and unity are more important than scoring or winning the game.
