Claudine Barretto talked about her showbiz break
Optimum Star Claudine Barretto said that she does not regret taking her 6-year showbiz hiatus and here is the reason why.
Claudine has been in the industry since she was young. From the time she started her showbiz career, it seemed that there was no stopping when it comes to her showbiz projects. She did remarkable teleseryes and movie projects that defined her acting prowess.
However, for several years she set aside her acting career and focused on her children. During a recent virtual media conference for her comeback movie, based on the article in Manila Bulletin, the actress was asked if she has any regrets.
Claudine Barretto admitted that it was a painful decision for her. However, she had to do this for her children saying that she did not want them to feel they have no mother when their father already left. This happened when Claudine broke up with Raymart Santiago.
“It was a very painful and conscious effort and decision to leave show business. And looking back, I’d still do the same thing,” the Optimum Star said. For Claudine, it was all worth it because she has good children and she has a good relationship with them.
Meanwhile, talking about her movie Deception, the actress said that she can relate to this. “Very close to home. Nakaka-relate talaga ako,” she said as she also experienced deception in her life.
The said movie is also the reunion movie of Claudine Barretto with her ex-boyfriend Mark Anthony Fernandez. The last movie they did was 25 years ago. Deception is under Viva Films and Borracho Films and is directed by prominent director Joel Lamangan. The movie is set to start streaming exclusively on Vivamax this Jan. 28.
