Abdulkarim is the suspected mastermind of the gang that seized illicit substances worth P1 million, according to the NBI. Minors are reportedly used as drug couriers by the organization.

Apart from Abdulkarim, two other accomplices were caught in the buy-bust operation. Chief Atty. of the NBI-TFAID Jonathan Galicia, it appears that the group is attempting to draw attention to itself by utilizing their position.

Galicia underlined that they are utilizing an organization that is meant to be fighting illegal narcotics and this individual is doing the reverse. In the meantime, Abdulkarim denied that he was involved in a drug-related crime and that they had a juvenile drug courier.

“They’re using an organization that is supposed to be fighting illegal drugs and this guy is doing the opposite. When these people get elected mas powerful, mas connected, mahihirapan to catch these people,” Galicia said.

While PVAID’s first nominee, retired Col. Rodrigo Bonifacio, highlighted Abdulkarim’s participation in shabu and complimented the NBI for apprehending their regional director. He went on to say that he had no idea what Abdulkarim was up to and that they would investigate the issue on their own.
