Sharon Cuneta recalled the moment she worked with “Da King”
Megastar Sharon Cuneta shared the fondest memories she had with the legendary actor Fernando Poe, Jr.
Throughout the showbiz career of Sharon, she was paired with many leading men and did successful projects with them. She was able to work with “Da King” in two movies. They did the movie Kahit Konting Pagtingin in 1990 and in 1995 they did the film Minsan Pa.
Based on the article in Inquirer, the Megastar shared one memorable story that happened when she was taping her show in ABS-CBN years ago. At that time, FPJ called her.
“He called me to ask if I could go to where he was. I said, ‘But I’m in a shoot.’ He said, ‘Nagyayabang ako dito na kilala kita.’ He was in a sari-sari store. When I did come, he told the old lady running the store, ‘See? I told you I know Sharon,’” the Megastar shared.
Sharon said that it was near Sto. Domingo Church and she just bought a bottle of soft drink from that store and went back to the studio for her taping. The actress-singer also shared what she thinks is the reason why Fernando Poe, Jr. is called “Da King”.
For her, it is mainly because of the personality of the late actor. “He had an awesome public persona. He was one of the biggest stars and yet he was very humble,” she shared.
Sharon Cuneta said that if other stars tend to think so highly of themselves, FPJ was never like this. “FPJ was the perfect example of humility with the way he took as his responsibility to earn the respect of everyone around him. He was truly a good person,” the actress-singer said.
Sharon is currently part of the long-running Kapamilya series Ang Probinsyano which was originally a movie done by FPJ.
