PAGASA Says LPA’s Trough to Bring Cloudy to Rainy Skies Over Parts of PH

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Saturday (January 22)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the trough of a low-pressure area will bring cloudy to rainy condition over some parts of the country.

On Saturday (January 22, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The low-pressure area will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Shear Line will be affecting the eastern section of Central Luzon while the Northeast Monsoon would affect Northern Luzon and the rest of Central Luzon.

The shear line will bring cloudy conditions with rains over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mt. Province, Abra, Benguet, and Aurora province as well as Northern Samar.

The northeast monsoon would bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated light rains Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

The amihan/shear line are also expected to bring the similar weather condition Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and Quezon as well as Metro Manila, Ilocos Region and the rest of central Luzon.

“Inaasahan na papasok sa Philippine area of responsibility ang nasabing weather disturbance posibleng mamayang gabi o bukas. Bagama’t hindi pa nakakaapekto sa lagay ng panahon ng bansa, ang trough or extension nito ay possible nang magdulot ng pag-ulan sa susunod na 24 hours sa bahagi ng Eastern Visayas at eastern portion ng Mindanao,” PAGASA said.

The localized thunderstorms would bring similar weather condition over the remaining parts of the country. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms.

The coastal water condition over northern Luzon and the eastern section of central Luzon as well as the rest of the archipelago will be moderate to rough.
