The arrest and detention of the “Lolo Narding” Floro is currently making headlines. He was arrested for allegedly stealing 10 kilograms of mangoes in Asingan, Pangasinan on January 13, 2022.
The online community condemned the apparent inhumane treatment Lolo Narding received after being accused of stealing. According to the Public Information Office of Asingan, the arrest of the 80-year-old man was based on a warrant issued by the 7th Municipal Circuit Trial Court (MCTC) of Asingan-San Manuel last December 2021.
Asingan PNP said the old man was arrested after a “manhunt operation” that was conducted on January 13 in Barangay Bantog.
Lolo Narding Floro said he attempted to reach an agreement with his neighbor and even offered to pay for the mangoes but they told him to pay P6,000 bail instead.
