Video of Elderly Couple During Emotional Reunion After Separated for Months Touches Hearts of Netizens
The emotional reunion of an elderly couple who was separated for months due to pandemic goes viral after it was posted online.
The Facebook page “Philippine Star” has shared the heartwarming footage of an elderly couple who gets emotional during their reunion. The video immediately spread like a wildfire online and elicits comments from the social media users.
In the video, it can be seen that the senior citizen couple from Lopez, Quezon has been finally reunited after separated for four months due to COVID-19 restrictions. Nanay Gloria’s mental health has been affected by their separation.
Nanay Gloria has been diagnosed with depression and anxiety until the day came that she and her husband have been reunited again. The old lady’s son Melo Velaña made a way to make them live together again.
Melo revealed that his mother fell into a state of depression when 68-year-old Tatay Menandro suffered from severe COVID-19 way back in November 2020. During the treatment, he was also diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called pure red cell aplasia.
Tatay Menandro had to stay in Manila for medication and regular blood transfusion because of his health condition. He was able to recover and regain his strength after a month of battling the disease.
Nanay Gloria start to suffer from depression in January 2021 and her depression intensified in February 2021. She was brought to a psychiatrist for medication.
“Inexpect ko magiging emotional sila pareho especially si Nanay dahil palaging umiiyak kapag magka-video call sila ni Tatay, this is the longest period na nagkahiwalay sila,” Melo said.
