TONI GONZAGA – Kapamilya star and host Toni Gonzaga said this heartfelt statement to Jelai Andres and it touched lots of hearts.
Toni Talks is Toni Gonzaga’s main content in her vlogs. Her videos on YouTube are not your usual pranks and random days recordings. Those were all about people, their life stories, and each story has a moral lesson she can impart to her viewers. And just recently, the most recent guest she had is Jelai Andres, a famous content creator.
Jelai is not just known for humor and comedic skills but also because of her personal woes and issues where some parts are highly publicized. Among which is her love life and how she was cheated on behind her back by her husband. It’s not a secret to many that she suffered from several heartbreaks because of the betrayal.
And in the program, she opened up about why she’s always forgiving Jon Gutierrez or more popularly known as King Badger, her husband. Accordingly, she’s really a forgiving person most especially to her husband because she believed that there was still hope in him. She also believed in love. But while she was trying hard to keep them together despite all the cheating, she had unconsciously lost herself in the whole process of it.
She gradually lost herself and never remembered how to value herself. He became her world the reason why when they got separated, she wandered off somewhere devastating and the worst she experienced was the effect of his last cheating. She got depressed and had a drastic weight loss. Her family was greatly affected.
She then realized that all of the pain she endured was actually just God’s way of letting her know to let go. She endured for a long time until she can’t no more. She forgave many times until she can’t give anything anymore. Going through it all, in the end, might have broken her but at the same time, it also strengthened her. She learned that loving is not dependent on a particular person because the love she’s yearning for is something only she can give to herself. she valued and learned self-love because it’s through loving oneself first that you can love another person.
And what touched the many viewers’ hearts is what Toni has said to her.
“Ang parang bottom line dito love should not hurt. Love does not hurt. If it’s hurting you, it’s not love. Di ba? Love is supposed to heal you, love is supposed to comfort you, love is supposed to give you peace, love is supposed to give you security.”
