Comelec Tentative List of Candidates for 2022 Presidential Race

COMELEC – The Commission on Elections released the tentative list of the presidential list which does not include anymore the female Marcos.

The 2022 Election is around four (4) months away from now and the Commission on Election is checking on the candidacy of the aspirants for the different positions in the next poll. Previously, there were 15 presidential bets but the poll body has trimmed it down to 11 based on the latest tentative list it released.

Several presidential aspirants have started meeting the people in different cities and towns across the nation. Many of them also helped following the devastation caused by Typhoon Odette in several areas in the country. Some of them have started airing their plans and stands on certain national issues.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News citing the latest tentative list of presidential bets released by the Comelec, one of those who were removed by the poll body from the list is a female Marcos – a certain Maria Aurora Marcos. She is a businesswoman from Tarlac who filed her Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for president at the Sofitel Harbor Garden Tent in Pasay City.

According to the report, in 2016, the female Marcos also filed her candidacy for president but she was declared a nuisance candidate. For Election 2022, the main pool of aspirants is composed of a total of 97 candidacies for president.

In the latest tentative list of presidential bets released by the Comelec, there is only one (1) female candidate – Vice President Leni Robredo. Here are the 11 presidential bets on the tentative list:

  • Arcega, Gerald
  • De Guzman, Leody
  • Domagoso, Isko Moreno
  • Gonzales, Norberto
  • Lacson, Ping
  • Mangondato, Faisal
  • Marcos, Bongbong
  • Montemayor, Jose Jr.
  • Pacquiao, Manny
  • Robredo, Leni
