Chito Miranda talked about this side of his music journey
Parokya Ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda said that he knows his talent but stressed the value of humility.
Chito and his band have been sharing their music for more than two decades now. They are among the Pinoy bands who are still together after a long time of sharing music with each other.
In his recent Instagram post, Chito shared that he listened to their newly released digital album before 2021 ended. He shared how amazed he is working with talented people over the years and he is thankful for the opportunity to work with them.
“Bawat song, I’d point out to Neri kung gaano kagaling yung kabanda ko, or yung katrabaho namin na artist, arranger, or engineer on that track, and explain to her kung paano at gaano nila pinaganda yung kanta,” the band vocalist shared about the conversation he had with his wife Neri Naig-Miranda.
Then, Chito Miranda said that while the album was already halfway to the end, his wife asked him this question: “Eh ikaw? Hindi mo ba bibigyan ng credit ang sarili mo? Hindi ka ba magaling?” That question from the former actress made him ponder.
The singer-songwriter said, “alam ko naman na magaling ako (sabay tawa ng slight) pero di talaga dumaan sa utak ko at all na may kinalaman ako sa kagandahan ng mga kanta.” Chito does not feel that he deserves the credit even though he was the one who wrote the song.
He stressed that he is not trying to present himself as a humble person but it is a fact that he does not think this way. For Chito, their way of appreciating and crediting the people they worked with is one of the secrets why Parokya Ni Edgar is still intact.
He also mentioned that this is the reason why he does not want to go solo, aside from the fact that he does not want to make this alone. Chito Miranda highlighted the beauty of doing things “na sama-sama”.
