Baguio Security Guard Arrested After Caught with Illegal Drugs

Police authorities arrested a security guard after being caught with illegal drugs during the buy-bust operation in Baguio city.

In Purok 15, Irisan, Baguio City, a 42-year-old security guard was detained when authorities discovered him in possession of illegal substances during a buy-bust operation. According to the report, the suspect is Edmundo Garceco Gecarani, Jr., a security guard from Bayabas, San Isidro, Taytay, Rizal.

The guard is apparently a High Value Individual and a Cordillera Regional Top Ten Illegal Drug Personality, based on the report. As a result, the authorities joined forces to arrest the drug suspect security guard. A packet of suspected shabu weighing around 100 grams and worth P680,000 was among the items seized from the suspect.

Authorities have taken custody of the suspect, who is accused of breaking the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Meanwhile, an ex-soldier and two collaborators were apprehended when illegal substances worth P6.8 million were discovered in their possession.

According to a Zamboanga police report, three drug suspects were arrested and illegal substances were recovered by police officers and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents. One of the individuals has been identified as a former Philippine Army soldier.

The drug suspect soldier was discovered to be a former member of the Mofro National Liberation Front. The former soldier and two of his comrades were captured during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Upper Calarian.
