Pres. Duterte Speaks on Government Assistance for Odette Victims

DUTERTE – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte said that the government will give P5,000.00 cash aid per family greatly affected by Typhoon Odette.

Many families were left homeless by Typhoon Odette. Internationally called Rai, it is the strongest typhoon to have hit the Philippines this year bringing heavy rains and strong winds. Some houses and other infrastructures were damaged by the heavy rains and strong winds while others were hit by falling trees.

PH has prepared for Odette as the forecasts urged massive preparations. Many families were evacuated prior to the typhoon passing by their areas. However, the calamity has its own strength.

Many Filipinos now are spending the holidays in evacuation centers and temporary shelters. They are in need of water, food, clothing, and other basic necessities.
