Supreme Court Declares Work Suspension on December 24 and 31, 2021 in All 1st & 2nd Level Courts
The Supreme Court has declared work suspensions in all first and second level courts on December 24 and 31, 2021.
On Wednesday (December 22, 2021), the Supreme Court has released a circular declaring the suspension of work in first and second level courts and offices for the disinfection and sanitation.
The high court will conduct a disinfecting operation inside the court buildings and offices amid the COVID-19 pandemic to prevent the possible spread of the disease in the country. SC also declared December 23, 2021 as “no transaction” day in all trial courts and offices.
SC also announced that the deadline will be extended up to the next working day or December 27, 2021.
“Should there be pleadings or court submissions due on said date, the deadline for the same is extended up to the next working day, which is 27 December 2021,” SC said.
The court also instructed the presiding judges to ensure that the disinfection procedure will be carried out properly.
“All executive judges were also directed to ensure that the disinfection and sanitation are carried out and court documents are secured and organized,” the Office of the Court Administrator said.
Other agencies and establishment have yet to make similar announcement later this week.
