Nadine Lustre will continue honoring her contract with VAA until 2029
Actress-singer Nadine Lustre and the Viva Artist Agency have settled their legal issues after a year since this legal battle began.
Nadine’s fans rallied behind her back when she announced that she is terminating her contract with VAA and that she would manage her own career. However, the management of Viva did not accept this and the legal battle started.
It can be recalled that the actress-singer tagged her contract with the talent management company as “oppressive”. In June this year, the Quezon City Regional Trial Court sided with Viva and urged Nadine Lustre to honor the contract.
With this, it was announced that the actress will have a new project. Last November, the legal counsel of Nadine released a statement saying that the two camps were negotiating to settle the issues between them.
On December December, Atty. Gideon Pena, one of Nadine’s lawyers, released a statement saying that the actress and VAA already settled their legal issues. It was also stated that both camps agreed to honor their contract that is valid under December 31, 2029.
However, it was stressed that Nadine will retain “her rights to decide on matters in connection with her branding and image.” Both parties will not further discuss the legal issues to avoid “future misunderstandings”.
“For now, Nadine and Viva remain committed and focused on providing quality entertainment,” the statement said. With this, fans of the actress expressed happiness that the legal issues were settled already.
Meanwhile, Nadine Lustre has started filming last month for her new movie with Diego Loyzaga. It is a suspense-thriller film titled Greed. This new movie project of Viva Films is directed by Yam Laranas.
