Pacquiao Says He Hopes For United Mindanao During Halalan 2022
UNITED MINDANAO – Fighting Senator and Presidential Aspirant Manny Pacquiao said that he hopes to see a united Mindanao in the 2022 elections.
During an interview, Pacquiao was asked if he was hoping to get the endorsement of President Rodrigo Duterte. Recently, Duterte’s presidential bet, Senator Bong Go said he was stepping down from the race.
However, Duterte had already previously denounced his support for her Bongbong Marcos. As such, the public is left to question who would Duterte support.
Meanwhile, when asked about this, Pacquiao said that he wants a united Mindanao instead. Based on an article from GMA, the Senator stated:
Malaking pasasalamat ko kung magkaisa kami sa Mindanao. Yun naman po ang hangarin nating lahat, ‘yung pagkakaisa
But, Pacquiao added that he would be thankful for the support from anyone as he’s looking for unity in the 2022 elections. “Kung naniniwala sila sa aking kakayahan, sa aking magagandang programa para sa ating mga kababayan, ay kailangan nating magkaisa“, he said.
Still, Pacquiao declined to answer if he would vote for President Duterte who would be running for Senator in the 2022 elections. According to Pacquiao, he would only disclose the candidates he votes for after he casts his votes.
Pacquiao and Duterte previously got into a scuffle due to the entire PDP-Laban faction issue. Earlier this year, however, Pacquiao and Duterte had a “quick meeting”.
According to Senator Go, the meeting was not politically charged. Instead, he said that it was more of a “renewal of friendship”.
