Alleged Employee of DFA Involved in Illegal Drugs Arrested in Buy-Bust Operation in Taguig

Anti-illegal drugs authorities arrested an alleged employee of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) during a buy-bust operation in Taguig.

The Taguig police’s Drug Enforcement Unit launched a sting operation in Sta. At 10:30 p.m., Teresa Compound in North Daang Hari, Taguig was raided. According to a statement made by the Southern Police District (SPD) Public Information Office, the arrested suspect is Dennis Pecson, 61, a DFA employee and a resident of Marimar Village 1, Paranaque.

Pecson is a utility worker at DFA, according to Taguig police chief Col. Celse Rodriguez. According to police, the suspect was found with four plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance thought to be shabu weighing 7.4 grams or the equivalent of P50,320 and P200 buy-bust money.

SPD DEU members performed a buy-bust operation in the same city, resulting in the arrest of three narcotics suspects. Joshua Guevarra, 23, and Joanne Guevarra, 29, all of Taguig, and Paolo Pascual, 30, of Pateros, were identified as the suspects.

They were found with five plastic sachets carrying suspected shabu weighing roughly 10.5 grams, valued at P71,400.00, and P500 buy-bust money. Meanwhile, DEU officers were apprehended in Alley 12, Brgy Sta. On the Unified Drugs Watchlist, Christian Jay Villagomez, 23, was discovered in Pateros.

Villagomez was arrested with three plastic sachets with suspected shabu weighing one gram, money worth P6,800, an aluminum pipe, a plastic cartridge carrying suspected illegal drugs, and P300 in buy-bust money. The suspects are presently being held in detention centers in Taguig and Pateros, where they will face charges of breaching Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
