2 Men Offering Fake Birth Certificates in Front of PSA Office Arrested in Quezon City

Police authorities arrested two (2) men allegedly offering fake birth certificates in front of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) office in Quezon City.

According to the complaint, the two were seen in front of the PSA Pinahan office in Quezon City, offering a fee-based service to obtain a birth certificate. Rogelio Ranoco Navidad, 31, and Rolly Guevarra Cuaderno, 31, all merchants and inhabitants of Brgy. NIA Road, were detained. Pinyahan.

The suspects were apprehended by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group of the Quezon City District Field Unit (CIDG-QCDFU) in front of the PSA exit gate on East Avenue, Brgy. Pinyahan. The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTAJohn )’s Carlo Fabia claimed that the accused were tampering with PSA birth certificates.

As a result, the CIDG-QCDFU initiated an investigation into the two suspects right away. One of the CIDG-QCDFU personnel pretended to be a client in order to obtain a birth certificate.

When the deal was confirmed, Navidad was detained right away, but Cuaderno quickly assisted his partner in fleeing. They were, however, detained and could not manage to avoid being apprehended.

The suspects were caught with a forged PSA birth certificate, marked money, and a telephone used in the transaction. The suspects have been held in custody while charges of breaking the Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007, falsifying public documents, and obstructing justice are being prepared against them.
