LTO Employee in Lucena City Office Arrested After Caught Selling Fake Driver’s License

Police authorities arrested an employee of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Lucena City after caught selling fake driver’s license to applicants.

According to the Candelaria Police Station’s report, the suspect was apprehended after an entrapment operation was carried out against him. Two victims reported that he sought money in exchange for a phony driver’s license, which led to his detention.

The entrapment operation happened in Barangay Bukal Sur, said town. Candelaria police personnel identified the suspect as Jose Manalo Campos Jr., 67, of Brgy. Isabang, Tayabas, and Liaison Officer of the LTO-Lucena City district office.

Victims Rannie Samonte Penuela and Noel Arellano Resurreccion, both of Candelaria, filed a lawsuit against Campos after they were allegedly solicited for P5,000.00 apiece for their professional driver’s license. However, the suspect’s driver’s license was discovered to be forged.

After accepting the boodle money, police promptly launched an operation, and the perpetrator was apprehended. He has already been arrested and is being held at the Candelaria Municipal Police Station.

Meanwhile, the personnel of Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) arrested two individuals allegedly fixers of driver’s license in LTO Quezon City. According to reports, ARTA received a tip regarding the two’s illicit activities and dispatched an undercover agent to approach one of the suspects.

According to the agent, the suspect requested P4,500 to ensure that his license was immediately upgraded from non-professional to professional. It is stated that if the agent had this much money, he would have passed the examinations no matter what else he answered.

As a result, the authorities launched an investigation against the two. The two suspects were apprehended while investigators continue to look for their suspected collaborators within the LTO Quezon City.
