Loan Collector Jailed After Losing Collection Money to E-Sabong
Authorities arrested a loan collector after he pretended to be robbed after losing the money he collected to E-Sabong or online cockfight.
According to the police complaint, a guy in Mangaldan, Pangasinan purported to be a victim of embezzlement after allegedly wagering and losing the money received from the loan to online sabong. Norjude Reyes, a lending collector, was identified as the culprit, according to authorities.
Reyes allegedly said that he was abducted and that his collection of more than P18,000 was stolen in Barangay Banaoang, according to investigators. Reyes even displayed a scar on his side that he said was caused by the two men’s robbery.
Reyes also named the two men who allegedly kidnapped him. However, according to Mangaldan Police Deputy Officer Police Lieutenant Arnel Diopesa, it revealed in their inquiry that Reyes reportedly produced the scar himself and that he was not a victim of embezzlement.
The inquiry indicates that he lost the online cockfight, according to the official, who also stated that Reyes bet the more over P18,000 he received on the loan. Reyes, on the other hand, insisted that he had been apprehended and was only forced to concede that he had lost the money through gambling. For what transpired, Reyes will face many counts.
After reportedly failing to pay P561,000 for online sabong, police detained a 19-year-old student in Maco town, Davao de Oro. The supervisor of Bong Fours Isobel Online Gaming Place requested police help, according to the Maco Municipal Police Station report.
This occurred when the student lost an online cockfight and failed to pay the wager. This is a case of swindling or estafa, according to Maco Police. The materials for the appropriate criminal case against the suspect are already being prepared by the police.
