Former vice mayor and now a mayoral candidate in Ozamiz City has been arrested by the authorities over an alleged murder charge.
The former vice mayor, who is currently running for mayor of a town in Lanao del Sur, was arrested by the Ozamiz City Police Station and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG). The operation was prompted by the murder charge leveled against him.
Alinader Balindong alias Badar, 67, a former deputy mayor of Picong, Lanao del Sur, and currently a contender for mayor of Malabang, Lanao del Sur, was detained. Balindong was apprehended on a murder warrant issued by Judge Alberto Quinto of the Malabang RTC.
