Kapamilya actor Paulo Avelino revealed that his Marry Me, Marry You leading lady Janine Gutierrez is part of his dating history.
It is no doubt that the onscreen tandem of Janine and Paulo has been receiving warm responses from primetime TV viewers. Their teleserye is already on its Season 2 which only proves the support that they receive from their fans.
During a recent virtual media conference for the second season of the teleserye, based on the article in Inquirer, Paulo Avelino was asked if he would court Janine Gutierrez if they were both single.
“Alam ko itatanggi na naman ako ni Janine. Lumabas na kami dati, Lumabas na kami dati natuloy,” Avelino said. “Kung mangyayari ngayong pagkakataon na ito na single siya at single ako, then okay,” the actor answered.
Janine was asked if this statement of her leading man is true. She said, “Excuse me, never ko dineny. Si [Paulo] lang ‘yung walang sinasabi.”
Then, the actor recalled one instance when he said that he and Janine dated but the actress corrected him by saying, “Hindi ah, nag-hang out lang tayo.” Paulo quipped that he got hurt by that statement of Janine that was like it was nothing to her when they went out together twice.
Meanwhile, the Kapamilya actor said that he did not expect the overwhelming support that his tandem with Janine would get. He is thankful that many viewers are loving his onscreen chemistry with his leading lady.
Marry Me, Marry You is airing every weeknight and also features Jake Ejercito, Sunshine Dizon, and Cherry Pie Picache. It is not the first project that Janine and Paulo did together. They already finished shooting for the movie Ngayon Kaya but due to the pandemic, the cinema release was postponed.
