What is the story behind this photo of Bongbong Marcos in Cebu?
Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia shared the story behind the viral photo with presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
In a recent episode of ANC’s Headstart of Karen Davila, one of the questions she asked the Governor of the Queen City of the South was about the said photo that she had with two of the popular politicians nowadays.
Davila said that because of that photo, many people speculated that Garcia is supporting the presidential bid of Marcos. Some speculated that the governor is supporting the alleged BBM-Sara tandem in 2022. The Cebu Governor said that they had a simple dinner in her daughter’s house.
Garcia explained that her opponent, Ace Durano, has been going around claiming that he is being endorsed by Sara Duterte and he also claimed that the Davao City Mayor was the one who encouraged him to run.
The Cebu Governor said that Mayor Sara denied that and said that she has not met Durano yet and has nothing to do with the party called “PPP”. Since they were together at that time, Garcia asked the presidential daughter to have her endorsement and to pose for a photo.
At that time, former Senator Bongbong Marcos was beside them and he said he is also endorsing Gwen Garcia and so, they took a photo together. The Governor said that it was not the other way around.
When asked about the photo of her with another presidential candidate, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, the governor said that they have known each other for quite some time now since they were Vice Mayors of their respective cities. However, Garcia said that their party has not come up with the decision yet if who they will support.
