Darren Espanto ‘Squid Game’ Look Receives Wi Ha Joon’s Stamp Of Approval
DARREN ESPANTO – Shortly after Darren Espanto went viral, his photos had been seen by Wi Ha Joon himself. The Pinoy singer sported the iconic pink suit of the guards on the hit Netflix series.
Netflix’s survival drama Squid Game has hooked millions of viewers around the world and has inspired many to dress up as the characters this past Halloween. Some fans recreate the games of the K-drama in real life.
In a previous article, celebrity couple Neil Arce and Angel Locsin turned parts of their house into a set inspired by the hit series. They wore a green tracksuit similar to the ones worn by players in the show while Neil dressed up as The Front Man from the tv series.
On November 2, vlogger Donnalyn Bartolome uploaded ‘The Filipino Squid Game’ on her Youtube Channel. She and her friends try out different games featured in the K-drama with a Pinoy twist. The best part of her vlog is that each player tried to match how their character looked on the hit series.
One of the celebrities who dressed up as one of the characters of Squid Game for Halloween is Kapamilya singer Darren Espanto. He dressed up as Hwang Jun Ho.
If you can remember, Jun Ho is the cop who sneaked his way into the game’s venue to find his brother. Later on in the series, he disguised as one of the guards.

Darren sported the iconic pink suit of the guards on the hit series and uploaded several photos on his Instagram account with a caption: “Officer Hwang Jun Jo at your service.”
He did not only nail Hwang Jun Ho’s look but also received a stamp of approval from the South Korean actor Wi Ha Joon, the actor who played Jun Ho. He liked Darren’s photos on Instagram, leaving him surprised.
The 20-year-old singer was super happy when he saw it and tweeted: “NO WAAAAY. Wi Ha Joon liked my post!!!”
