President Duterte to Make a List of “Worthy” Senatorial Aspirants in 2022 Poll

President Duterte Come Up with a List of “Worthy” Senatorial Candidates for 2022 Election

President Rodrigo Duterte comes up with the list of alleged “worthy” senatorial candidates for the upcoming election in 2022.

During his Talk to the People, Duterte stated that he will create a code or list of names of deserving candidates for the upcoming elections in the Philippines. The President underlined that, while he will write the code, voters will still have to choose which candidate to vote for.

“Maggawa ako ng listahan kung sino ang dapat na ibalik ninyo o boto ninyo before the elections,” the Chief Executive said.

“Maniwala kayo, mabuti. ‘Pag hindi, eh, buti makita mo rin ganoon rin ang laro ng Pilipinas,” he added.

President Duterte has once again urged voters to recall Senate veterans who have done nothing while in office. The President also took another swipe at the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee for the government’s procurement of pricey coronavirus (COVID-19) medicines from Pharmally last year.

“Sabi ko na nga sa Filipino, ang tigas ng ulo ninyo, eh. Tanggalin na ninyo ‘yung matagal na diyan at walang ginagawa,” said President Duterte.

Senators who continue to claim there were anomalies in the government’s procurement of COVID-19 supplies and equipment were labeled arrogant by the President. It was “arrogance of authority,” according to Duterte, who added that they didn’t understand it since they were “unthinkingly excited” about establishing that there were anomalies in government procurement.

Meanwhile, the President endorsed each of the eight senatorial candidates on the PDP-Laban slate for the 2022 elections. These are:

  • Former Information and Communications Secretary Gregorio Honasan III
  • Former Agrarian Reform Secretary John Castriciones
  • Former Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo
  • Former Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission Commissioner Greco Belgica
  • Former Public Works Secretary Mark Villar
  • Sagip Partylist Representative Rodante Marcoleta
  • Veteran broadcaster Rey Langit
  • Actor Robin Padilla.
