Government Provides Cash Aid to 149 Students From Tuburan Town, Cebu
About 149 elementary, junior and senior high school students from the town of Tuburan in Cebu received cash aid.
The Ang Probinsyano Party List (APPL), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the local government of Tuburan make an effort to provide cash assistance to the less-fortunate students.
The effort of those groups aim to help the less-fortunate kids with their educational needs. About 260 students from the far-flung barangays in Tuburan town in midwestern Cebu. The first batch of beneficiaries have already received their financial aid last Monday (October 18).
The elementary students received P1, 000, Junior high school students received P1, 500 while senior high school students receive P3, 000 in cash assistance. 111 students in second batch are expected to receive their cash on another date.
APPL first nominee Rep. Alfred Delos Santos also pledged to coordinate and work with the officials of Tuburan to help their constituents.
“Nalaman po natin na napaka-importante po pala sa kanila ang evacuation center kaya eto po ang agad-agarang hinatid natin sa kanila. At besides doon, nagbigay kami ng educational assistance na alam naming kailangan dito sa Tuburan,” Santos said.
A grade-10 student named McKinley Bardoquillo who came from a remote barrio in Tuburan town takes a 30-minute habal-habal ride just get to the financial assistance.
The cash aid will be a great help for the students especially for the less-fortunate kids who barely survive during this coronavirus pandemic.
