AFP Member, Woman Arrested Over P1.8-M Worth of Illegal Plant in Taguig
Police authorities arrested an Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) member and woman cohort after being caught with P1.8 million worth of illegal plant in Taguig.
During a buy-bust operation in Taguig City, the Philippine Drug Agency Enforcement (PDEA) apprehended a soldier and a woman who were accused of peddling a plant considered illegal drugs. According to the report, the drug suspects were captured carrying P1.8 million worth of an illicit plant known as “Maryjane.”

The transaction took happened on C-6 Road in Barangay New Lower Bicutan. According to the PDEA report, the officers seized 15 kilos of suspected Maryjane from the two.
The apprehended soldier was a 34-year-old active Philippine Army personnel, according to the PDEA-NCR. The report added that both of them are residing in Bayombog, Nueva Vizcaya.
According to the article, the source of their supply and who their customers are are still being probed. They will face charges of unlawful drug distribution.
Meanwhile, two more Philippine Army members and a police have been arrested in Maguindanao for illegal guns sales. In a coordinated police operation, the suspects were apprehended and were unable to escape the arresting officers.
Authorities made the arrest after receiving information regarding the illegal sale of high-end weapons. As a result, the authorities conducted an entrapment operation. Aside from the government employees, two other people were arrested as part of the operation.
