Metro Manila: PH Government Announces New Quarantine Level

Update on Metro Manila New Quarantine Level

METRO MANILA – The Philippine government announced a new community quarantine level in the capital region starting October 16, 2021.

The whole Philippines is still on a battle against the COVID-19 pandemic. The nation remains under community quarantine measure as the threats of coronavirus remain to put lives at risk. Currently, Metro Manila is under granular or localized lockdowns wherein the alert level system is observed thus measures among cities may differ depending on the situation.

Previously, the Department of Health (DOH) stressed that the widespread uniform lockdown may no longer be very effective as the people need to go out for work. The pandemic task force pushed through with the localized lockdowns.

Recently, the pandemic task force has decided on the community quarantine measure in Metro Manila. Inter-agency task force spokesperson Harry Roque announced the decision of the IATF.
