Victoria Vincent Reveals Reason Why She Turned Down Offer To Be Miss Universe New Zealand 2021

VICTORIA VINCENT – Filipino-Kiwi beauty queen Victoria Velasquez Vincent revealed the reason why she turned down the offer to be Miss Universe New Zealand 2021.

On January 31, 2021, Victoria Velasquez Vincent arrived from New Zealand to the Philippines. She competed in a national beauty pageant for the first time amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The 25-year-old architect and heritage conservationist represented Cavite, her mom’s home province at the Miss Universe Philippines 2021. She competed against 27 other delegates, she ranked 3rd during the finals night at the Henann Resort Convention Center at the Alona Beach in Panglao, Bohol last Sept. 30.

Victoria Velasquez Vincent earned her Miss Universe Philippines Charity 2021 title. After her stint at the said local pageant, she was offered to be Miss Universe New Zealand 2021.

The Filipino-Kiwi beauty queen recently revealed that she was offered to be Miss Universe New Zealand (MUNZ). On Oct. 12, Victoria took to her Instagram account to explain why she had to decline the offer.

Victoria Velasquez Vincent said the offer was handed to her “shortly after” the MUPH. However, after a week, she “politely” declined the offer.

“So many people will say I’m crazy for turning down this opportunity, but I had to choose what I know in my heart was the right thing to do…”

My heart is, and always will be here to serve the Philippines… Some may say I’m not Filipina enough, and that’s ok. I know who I am. I know what I stand for. I am a Filipina,” she added.

Victoria then thanked the Miss Universe New Zealand organization for the opportunity and the team of MUPH for their support.

Victoria still has 2 years to earn a chance to compete in any of the 6 international beauty pageants namely Miss Grand International, Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss Earth, Miss International, and Miss Supranational. She may also compete in the Binibining Pilipinas 2022.
