More Doctors Call Duterte to Stop Blocking Investigation on Pharmally Deal

Doctors Want Investigation on Government’s Deal To Continue

DOCTORS – More members of the Philippine College of Physicians (PCP) are calling for President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to stop blocking the investigation of the government’s deal with Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corp.

Unfortunately, amid the crisis that the Philippines is experiencing now, there are still corruption issues that surround some deals of the government in the fight against COVID-19. One of these is the state’s deal with Pharmally.

There are allegations of overprices medical supply procured by the government from Pharmally. However, Pres, Rodrigo Roa Duterte came to the defense of the company and the deal of the government. He even told the senators that they must not look into the technical and the financial requirements of the firm.

The 76-year-old President also defended Michael Yang, the person who helped Pharmally be the supplier of the medical needs. The lawmakers question how the company won over P8 billion contracts.

Based on the report, the former PCP President expressed that five (5) former secretaries of the Department of Health (DOH) joined the call and the last one who has yet to express her side is Pauline Ubial. According to him, the fact that majority of the former Health secretaries joined the call show that the people are really willing to come out and “affix their signature”.

Ramos stressed that it is not anymore right for Pres. Duterte to defend Pharmally. According to him, it really came to a point urging people who are silent before not to remain mum amid the issues anymore.
