Joey de Leon mentioned this statement of the President in his recent Twitter post
President Rodrigo Duterte had this statement about Filipinos who does not want to be vaccinated, “turukin natin ang natutulog” and this received a reaction from veteran comedian-host Joey de Leon.
The government continues to urge the public to get the vaccine. On October 12, based on the report from CNN Philippines, Pres. Duterte jokingly said this when it comes to those who are hesitant to get the vaccine: “Iyan ang problema, ‘yung ayaw magpabakuna. Kaya hanapin ninyo ‘yan sa barangay niyo, akyatin natin pag tulog, at turukin natin ang natutulog para makumpleto ang istorya.”
He added that those who do not want to be vaccinated will be visited in their houses and will be injected in their sleep. “Ako ang mag-ano. I will lead the journey,” PRRD said.
Joey de Leon shared his reaction to this on Twitter. “Kwela rin itong Presidente natin,” the Henyo Master said. He added that people who did not laugh at this have no sense of humor.
“Op kors nagpapatawa lang yun! Ang tawag ko dun ay TUROK-TULOG!” the veteran comedian, who is known for wittiness when it comes to playing with words, commented.
On a serious note, the Eat Bulaga host asked the public why there are still those who are hesitant to get the vaccine. Then, he urged Filipinos to get vaccinated. “Pabakuna na kayo!” Joey de Leon said.
Meanwhile, Joey is just among the veteran celebrities who are coping with the new normal in the entertainment industry. He previously revealed that at first, he had a hard time setting up for Eat Bulaga. The work-from-home setup was new to him with all the gadgets and video conferencing.
