NDRRMC Releases Death Toll Due To Maring, At Least 9 Dead Today

DEATH TOLL – Typhoon Maring has severely affected areas in Northern Luzon causing massive flooding and landslides due to heavy rainfall.

In the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council’s (NDRRMC) latest report, at least 9 people have died due to the onslaught of the storm. According to an article from Inquirer, three people were dead from a landslide in La Trinidad and Benguet.

Meanwhile, another was killed in Itogon of the same province. Additionally, one drowned in Claveria, Cagayan. Furthermore, the flash floods in Narra, Palawan took the lives of four others.

Along with this, two were reported as injured in Benguet and 11 people are still tagged as missing after landslides and flash floods hit Benguet, Ilocos Norte, and Palawan.

Currently, Maring is seen moving away from the Philippine area of responsibility. At around 11:00 a.m., the storm was found 315 kilometers from Calayan, Cagayan.

On social media, netizens who still have access to the internet have called out desperately for help. Several residents of severely affected areas have posted photos and videos of their dire situations.

Furthermore, social media has been used as a tool to report instances of families trapped due to flash floods, landslides, and more.
