Cheating Husband Gets 8 Years Of Prison Time After Zambales SC Finds Him Guilty

CHEATING HUSBAND – A cheating husband was sentenced to 8 years of prison time after the Supreme Court of Zambales found him guilty of violating Republic Act 9262.

The husband’s plea for review was denied by the high court’s Third Division, which affirmed the Court of Appeals’ verdict with modifications in a decision released last week. The individual was likewise convicted guilty of the crime by a trial court in Zambales.

The petitioner was sentenced to a minimum of six months and one day in jail and a maximum of eight years and one day in prison, as well as a fine of P100,000, for causing mental or emotional anguish, public ridicule, or humiliation to the woman or her child, which is a violation of Republic Act 9262 Section 5(i).

According to the Court’s judgment on January 13, 2021, he was also ordered to receive psychological counseling or psychiatric treatment and to report his compliance to the court of origin within 15 days of completion of such counseling or treatment.

Based on the Supreme Court’s findings, the CA’s judgement was irreversible in deciding that psychological violence was proven under the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act.

The wife stated that the petitioner was a drunk womanizer even after 23 years of marriage. Back in October of 2010, the wife said she was evicted from their home after she fought with her husband.

Then, the wife later found that the man was living with another woman she brought home whom he introduced as the children’s aunt. Meanwhile, the man argues that the wife could not have suffered any psychological violence as she did not have knowledge of his infidelity.
