Virus-Positive Cop Accidentally Shot Self Inside Hospital in Nueva Ecija
A Cop who was found positive with coronavirus disease (COVID-19) accidentally shot himself to death inside the hospital in Nueva Ecija.
The victim was just admitted to the hospital for treatment after testing positive for the virus, according to the article. The deceased has been identified as S/Sgt. Reynante Menia, 43, of Zone 1, Barangay Villa Joson, according to city police head Lt. Col. Criselda de Guzman.

Menia was taken to the San Jose City Hospital on October 8 after testing positive for COVID-19, according to de Guzman. Menia was cleaning a 9mm Pietro Beretta pistol, which he was used to doing, according to investigators.
The gun he was cleaning, however, accidentally fired and flew right at him, based on the report. The victim passed away on the scene. The victim’s lifeless body was discovered with a gunshot wound to his head.
According to OCTA Research, the Philippines had the lowest seven-day average COVID-19 cases since August, with 10,452. The lowest drop of 29% occurred from August 6 to 12, when extended community quarantine (ECQ) was being implemented in various locations, including Metro Manila.
