RAFFY TULFO – Senator-aspirant Raffy Tulfo reveals his opinion regarding Willie Revillame’s decision not to run in the upcoming national election.
In a previous article, broadcast journalist Raffy Tulfo filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) declaring a senatorial bid for the 2022 elections. The 61-year-old radio presenter decided to run as an independent candidate. Such a decision was fueled by his mission to end injustices and oppression in the country because he can only do limited responses to help other people by being a broadcaster.
“Confident ako na yung mga subscribers ko ang susuporta sa akin at hindi lang ang mga subscribers ko ang susporta sa akin. ‘Yan ang dahilan kung bakit ako independent,” he said. Also, he expressed that he doesn’t want to be affiliated and indebted to any political party. He even revealed that the camps of Senator Ping Lacson and Senator Manny Pacquiao asked him to join them but he respectfully denied all the offers to him.
And just recently, regarding the withdrawal of Willie Revillame to run for a government position, Tulfo reacted. The broadcaster aired that he wonders why he backed out because for all he knows, he’s also helpful just like him. He said during his mediacon last October 9, “Hindi ko alam kung bakit siya umatras. At hindi ako mag-i-speculate kung ano ang kanyang tunay na dahilan kung bakit siya umatras.
“Ang pagkakaalam ko, isa rin siyang matulunging tao tulad ko. Malapit din ang puso niya sa mga mahihirap nating kababayan,” he also stated as per PEP report.
He added that he has high respect for him and he witnessed how he struggle his way to be on top of his success. Meanwhile, Revillame, in his announcement, indicated that he can still help the people in need through his show. He believes he doesn’t need any government position to help. Also, he is also not that confident yet in his capacity to become a senator in terms of the technicalities that such a position requires.
