Joey de Leon shares work from home struggles
The daughter of veteran host-comedian Joey de Leon had this diva moment that was revealed by his daughter Jocas de Leon.
Joey is known for his witty lines in movies, on TV shows, and even on his social media posts. He has brought laughter to Filipino households for several decades now.
Amid the pandemic, he also needed to cope up with the new normal just like his fellow veteran host Vic Sotto. Right now, they are doing the work from home set up for Eat Bulaga.
However, this new setup was difficult for Joey de Leon at first. Based on the article in Bandera, the veteran showbiz personality shared the difficulty he encountered in setting up his lights and gadgets for Zoom
He said that he felt “awa” for himself because of this. “Lumuluha ako sa awa sa sarili ko. Dahil kunwari sina Allan K., yung mga kasama ko sa Eat Bulaga, yung mga hosts, ang mga ring light nila kasing-laki ng hula hoop, kasing-laki ng batya,” the Henyo Master said as he admitted that he is not the techie kind.
Fortunately, his wife Eileen has been helping him. However, there was a time when Eileen had to go to church and Joey asked helped from his daughter Jocas. “Isang araw, nakiusap ako dahil magsisimba siya (Eileen), eh. Si Jocas, nakiusap ako. ‘Yung isang yun eh….alam n’yo muntik pang magkaroon ng third world war,” Joey de Leon shared.
Then, Jocas revealed that her dad had his “diva moment”. “Eh, yung Dad ko may pagka…alam mo na artista, so diva, diva siya. So sinabi ko talaga sa kanya ‘Da! Pag ako tinarayan mo talagang tatayuan talaga kita. Iiwanan ko talaga yung Zoom mo kapag ako tinarayan mo,” she shared.
Jocas revealed also the reaction of her father to this. Joey just told her that he would just skip doing Eat Bulaga for that day. “Hindi ko siya matarayan, mag-aabsent na lang daw siya sa Bulaga,” Jocas amusedly shared. On the other hand, their work from home tandem went well.
