MISS WORLD PHILIPPINES 2021 – Ganiel Krishnan resigned as Miss World Philippines 2021 2nd Princess and Janelle Lewis agreed to take her place.

“I regret to inform you of my decision to relinquish my Miss World Philippines Second Princess 2021 title and consequently resign from the Miss World Organization effective immediately,” says Ganiel Krishnan in an Instagram post. She announced her resignation as the pageant’s 2nd princess and the one who gladly accepted the duties and responsibilities that come with the crown and the title is Janelle Lewis.

Krishnan said that her career as a journalist, particularly a lifestyle and entertainment news reporter in ABS-CBN before the pageant, is the reason why she has to leave. The title and her contractual obligations with the network are accordingly not allowing her to do two things all at once. She had to make a sacrifice and that sacrifice is letting go of the crown and the title.

The organization accepted Ganiel’s decision. Lewis was one of the Top 15 finalists and winner of the Miss Silka award of the pageant. She is Filipino-British. She was once a talent of the GMA Artists Center of the Kapuso network.

Meanwhile, the recently concluded pageant lasted for six hours which really tested the patience of the viewers. Miss World Philippines 2019 Michelle Dee passed the crown to Tracy Maureen Perez at the Subic Bay Convention and Exhibition Center in Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Olongapo, Zambales. The pageant was held last October 3, Sunday.
