Is it true that Gretchen Barretto is running for congresswoman?
Veteran entertainment columnist Lolit Solis said that her source confirmed that socialite and former actress Gretchen Barretto is aiming congressional seat.
La Greta has long been inactive in showbiz but her name is still popular even in the present generation. Just recently, her name was much-talked-about within the showbiz circle. It is because of the love boxes she gave to showbiz personalities and people in front and behind the camera.
With this, presumptions surfaced that the former actress will be joining politics and the “ayuda” that she gave were sort of preparations for her political plans. However, in a previous article, friends of the socialite contradicted the presumptions saying that she has no plan of entering politics.
On the other hand, based on the article in Pilipino Star Ngayon, during a recent episode of Take It Per Minute Me Ganun (TIPMMG), the digital showbiz talk show of Cristy Fermin, Mr. Fu, and Lolit Solis, the latter said that she received a message from her source who confirmed that Gretchen Barretto is planning to run for Congresswoman.
Further details were not yet revealed but Lolit’s source said that La Greta was encouraged to run and finally she gave in. As of this writing, the former actress has not released any statement yet regarding this and there was no filing of the certificate of candidacy yet.
Meanwhile, aside from the love boxes or “ayuda” that Gretchen gave to celebrities, showbiz writers, and reporters, she also volunteered to provide the prizes for the TIPMMG contest which was sacks of rice and 10 wheelchairs.
It was said that Gretchen Barretto was really the one who called Lolit Solis and presented that she will be the one who provide the prizes.
