In jumping rope, double bottom means that the participant has to jump higher than normal while swinging twice under their feet. Alonzo, 34, has set a new global milestone with 40,980 jumps after six hours of overtime.

It was also revealed that Alonzo was struggling with cramps during his world record performance. He almost stopped due to excruciating seizures, but family members, including La Salle swim team captain Benzi Yang, cheered him on multiple times.

Alonzo, trained and supervised by Gadric Chusenfu, was delighted with his incredible performance until he was recognized by Guinness World Records. According to the report, “Skipman,” as the jump rope community calls him, was the nephew of Doc Willie Ong, who is now running for vice presidential seat.

“I’m out of words, it is super overwhelming. Halfway through my legs were cramping,” said Alonzo.

“I didn’t expect talaga na maaabot ko pa and when you guys started cheering parang becoming happy lang, suddenly mataas na pala number ko in that hour,” he added.
