Yordenis Ugas Worried Fans Hating Him After Beating Manny Pacquiao in His Last Fight

Cuban professional boxer Yordenis Ugas is worried that fans would hate him after beating Filipino boxer Manny Pacman Pacquiao in the final fight of his career.

On Twitter, the WBA ‘Super World’ welterweight champion wrote that he is concerned that fans won’t support him because defeated Pacquiao in the final fight of his pro bout on August 21st as the Filipino boxer will now enter the world of politics. The legendary boxer has announced his retirement from the sport in order to run for president.

Ugas (27-4, 12 KOs) successfully defended his WBA ‘Super World’ welterweight title against the 42-year-old Pacquiao (62-8-2, 39 KOs) on August 21st as a replacement opponent for the injured Errol Spence Jr. Pacquiao battled admirably for a man in his early 40s returning from a two-year layoff against Ugas.

The Filipino fighter, on the other hand, was unable to defeat the talented Cuban. Due to an injured left bicep, Ugas fought with only his right arm, but he was able to defeat Pacquiao.

“A question. I was talking to some friends. By life things. It was Pacquiao’s last fight, I had the luck and opportunity to beat a great legend. Are boxing fans going to hate me, or are they going to support me ??? #PacquiaoUgas Yordenis Ugas @YordenisUgas,” Ugas wrote in his post.

“Pacquiao is retiring from being an active fighter but will continue to be a fighter, now entering the biggest and most important fight of his life for the presidency of his country. Serving his country is always the greatest honor of any man. Luck and success champ @MannyPacquiao,” said Ugas.

Because the Pacquiao vs. Ugas fight was not very memorable, it is possible that boxing fans will quickly forget about it. After Spence had an eye injury in camp, many fans reportedly lost interest in paying to witness it, resulting in low PPV numbers.
