Pinay OFW Got Jailed After Saudi Employer Complained About Her “Controversial” Selfie
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) – A Saudi employer allegedly sent a Pinay OFW to the jail for taking selfies with no clothes.
The female Overseas Filipino Worker identified as alias “Ana” has been sent by her foreign employer to jail for committing an alleged lascivious act. The OFW’s sister-in-law said that Ana take selfies of her body without clothes.
The Pinay migrant worker’s sister-in-law contacted Ana’s employer after she noticed that the letter is offline for several days. The employer told her that Ana has been brought to the police station.
“Simula nuong hindi na siya nag-online, nag-message ako sa kanyang boss na lalaki sa Whatsapp. Tinanong ko po siya [ang amo] kung ano na ang nangyari kay Ana at hindi na ito nagkapag-online. Sagot po ng amo na ‘nahuli si Ana na nag-selfie sa kwarto na naka [email protected]’,” the woman said.
The lady also revealed that Ana has not yet received her salary for four months although her contract has been completed. Ana’s husband also refused to believe the report and sought the help of authorities for the repatriation of its wife.
The Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) Jeddah Labor Attaché Roel Martin expressed the agency’s willingness to help the OFW and would refer the issue to the Philippine Consulate for assessment.
Martin also advised the OFWs working abroad to be more careful and responsible of their actions.
