Rabiya Mateo is embarking on her journey as an actress
Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo is introducing herself as an actress as her beauty queen stint is about to end.
Rabiya is the first-ever Pinay beauty queen who is under the Miss Universe Philippines Organization. She was able to reach the Top 20 in the international competition. Although many Pinoy beauty pageant fans expressed frustration for she did not bring home the crown, there were still many people who showed support for her.
After her beauty pageant stint, Rabiya Mateo expressed that she wants to venture into acting. She previously mentioned in an interview that she wanted to do “kontrabida” roles.
In a recent with Miss Universe Indonesia 2020 Ayu Maulida, based on the article in Philstar Lifestyle, Rabiya shared that she is set to sign a contract with a TV network. This will mark the start of her acting career.
“I’m also excited to turn over my crown on Sept. 25 because I will be signing with a TV network here in the Philippines. And I might start doing acting,” she shared. The Ilongga beauty queen will step down from her beauty queen duties and she is now ready to be on another platform.
“It’s a different chapter. Me being a beauty queen is about to end, but we’re about to open a different one and this is Rabiya as an actress. I’m excited about it,” she said.
Rabiya Mateo said that she knows that this new journey is not going to be easy. She perfectly understands that she has to go through workshops in order to enhance her acting skills. However, she is positively embracing the new challenges as she said that she was able to do it in Miss Universe and so she is going to do well also when it comes to acting.
However, Rabiya did not mention what network she will be signing a contract with. When she was asked if she wants to join beauty pageants again, she said that she is taking a rest now but she is not closing her doors.
