Camille Prats went through a crisis in her career years ago
Actress-host Camille Prats shared the story of how GMA-7 helped her went through a career crisis back in 2007.
Camille will be always known as the Princess Sarah of the Philippines. She did this movie in 1995 that boosted her career as a child superstar back then. Whether intentional or not, the image of being good or choosing to be good has always remained to be attached to herself.
However, in 2007, there was something that happened in her life that made her worry about the image that the public painted for her. She was afraid to tarnish the good image of Princess Sarah when she got pregnant at the age of 22 and back then, that was before her wedding with her late husband Anthony Linsangan, based on the article in PEP.
“Kasi growing up na ako si Princess Sarah, parang pakiramdam ko meron akong responsibilidad na ang ipapakita ko lang ay iyong mabubuti, hindi ako puwede magkamali. So noong time na nangyari iyon and I learned I was pregnant, ang daming mga tao around me telling me to hide my pregnancy, na itago na lang, na pumunta sa ibang bansa. Kunyari mag-aaral pero huwag na lang isapubliko kasi sayang ang career,” Camille Prats shared.
She said that it has always been about the career. As they say, in showbiz, getting pregnant is a career killer. However, the Mars Pa More host said that GMA-7 stood by her during that difficult time for her.
“GMA was there with me and tinulungan nila ako kung paano ko mashi-share at maisasapubliko iyong nangyari sa akin na iyon,” she said. After giving birth, there was already a project waiting for her and it was the afternoon drama series Gaano Kadalas Ang Minsan with Diana Zubiri and Marvin Agustin that became one of the top-rating shows on that timeslot.
Camille said that the Kapuso network did not make her feel that being a mother is a hindrance to continue what she loves to do and it is acting. Aside from this, she was also given a chance to be one of the hosts of Mars Pa More.
“I really can’t be thankful enough kaya iyong loyalty na ipinapakita ko sa GMA, maliit na bagay lang iyon kumpara sa dami ng opportunity na binigay nila sa akin. I’m really grateful to be where I am now, to be doing the things that GMA has been giving me,” she said.
Camille Prats also said that she plans to be a Kapuso as long as the network welcomes her and she will remain as a loyal Kapuso.
