PAGASA Says Monsoon Trough to Bring Cloudy & Rainy Conditions Over Parts of PH

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Friday (September 3)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the monsoon trough would bring cloudy and rainy conditions over some parts of the country.

On Friday (September 3, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The monsoon trough would continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

The monsoon trough would bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over the western section of Luzon particularly in Palawan including Kalayaan Islands. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms are expected over Bicol region, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Northern Samar due to the monsoon trough.

“Ang nakakaapekto sa kanlurang bahagi ng Luzon ay ang monsoon trough—ito ‘yung pagsasalubong ng hangin sa northeast at southwest,” weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

The localized thunderstorms would bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Abra, Benguet, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Apayao, Kalinga and Aurora.

Visayas and Occidental Mindoro as well as Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country would also experience similar weather conditions, according to PAGASA. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms are expected.

PAGASA also said that there is no weather disturbances spotted within the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

“Kung minsan sa monsoon trough, may namumuong low pressure area pero kasalukuyan, wala po tayong namo-monitor na low pressure area sa loob at labas ng ating PAR,” Aldczar added.

Meanwhile, the surrounding sea conditions over the entire archipelago would be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
