3 Thieves Placed Cow Inside Van After Stealing in Negros Occidental

Police authorities arrested three (3) thieves for allegedly stealing a cow and placing it inside their rented van in Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental.

Three persons were detained after being discovered stealing a cow at Purok Maisan, Barangay Bunga town of Don Salvador Benedicto, according to a report from Aksyon Radyo Bacolod. Jerry Genelosa, 40, Clyde Ersida, 33, and Rollie Francisco, 23, all of Bacolod City, were identified as the suspects.

According to Captain Eugene Tolentino, the DSB Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, the DSB has received numerous reports of animal theft in the region. Residents have reported that the perpetrators load the stolen animals into their van.

As a result, the DSB authorities sought more information from the provincial intelligence unit and dispatched a patrol to the area. Three people suspected of being thieves were apprehended during the patrol.

Furthermore, the suspects’ standard operating procedure is to rent a van and temporarily remove the seats in order to transport the stolen animals. According to Tolentino, the three already have a record in Bacolod City, where they were arrested for not returning a hired van, but were released when the payment was settled.

Meanwhile, An alleged “akyat bahay” thief was shot to death by a security guard after attempting to rob a dormitory. The alleged thief was equipped with an ice pick and was going to stab the guard, according to the police. As a result, the security guard retaliated by hurling a chair.

However, the man allegedly attacked him again, prompting him to fire his service weapon at the suspect. The suspect received a gunshot wound to the torso, which ended in his life.
