Panlasang Pinoy Dismisses Nas Daily Collab In Support Of Apo Whang-Od

Panlasang Pinoy Withdrew From Partnering W/ Nas Daily

PANLASANG PINOY – Filipino netizens praise food vlogger Vanjo Merano or better known as Panlasang Pinoy for dismissing his collaboration with Nas Daily

Last June, Palestinian-Israeli vlogger Nuseir Yassin or better known as Nas Daily announced on his Facebook page that his team will launch 12 new academies in the Philippines. He said 12 personalities will take part in his project.

Among the Pinoy celebs who joined in Yassin’s “Nas Academy” were Moira Dela Torre, Catriona Gray, and Erwan Heussaff. Other personalities who were featured were Dubai-based couturier Michael Cinco, GMA-7 journalist Jessica Sojo, and Kalinga tattoo legend Apo Whang-Od.

Last week, Apo Whang-Od’s grandniece called out the vlogger for being a “scam.” She said the 104-year-old tattoo artist did not sign any contract to do the course. In response, Yassin uploaded a video of the mambabatok affixing her thumbprint to a document.

Nas Daily was accused of earning money by exploiting indigenous people such as Whang-Od. The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) said they are set to review Whang-Od’s alleged contract with Yassin.

Now, Pinoy netizens want Nas Daily to be declared persona non-grata in the Philippines. His team has yet to respond to the petition.

Recently, American-based Filipino vlogger Vanjo Merano or better known as Panlasang Pinoy decided to dismiss his collaboration with Nas Daily in support of Apo Whang-Od.

In a Facebook post, the food vlogger said he will not continue his online course that was supposed to be aired at ‘Nas Academy.’ He said Yassin abused the kindness of the Pinoys towards him after he allegedly tried to make money from the culture of Kalinga.

“PP Academy was in the works under the Nas Academy platform, but I decided not to pursue in support to Apo and the exploited Pinoy hospitality!!! #icandoitonmyownanyway,” he wrote.
