PAGASA Says Fabian Moves West-Northwest, Habagat to Bring Monsoon Rains Over Parts of PH

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather update for Tuesday (July 20)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that Severe Tropical Storm Fabian is moving west-northwest while the habagat would bring monsoon rains over some parts of the country.

On Tuesday (July 20, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Severe Tropical Storm Fabian would continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

Severe Tropical Storm Fabian has been last spotted at 1,035 kilometers east northeast of extreme northern Luzon. It has maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 115 kph.

Fabian is expected to intensify into typhoon category tonight or on Wednesday (July 20, 2021). It is expected to reach its peak intensity of 150 kph on Thursday (July 22).

The southwest monsoon would bring cloudy conditions with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Occidental Mindoro and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands. Metro Manila, CALABARZON, the rest of MIMAROPA, and Western Visayas would experience similar weather conditions.

Habagat would also bring monsoon rains over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan.

The coastal water conditions over the entire country would be slight to moderate, according to the weather agency.
